Person County Partnership for Children Announces Angel Tree Program   

On November 5th, registration will be held for the annual Angel Tree Program. Angel Tree program is designed to ensure that children age 0-5 can experience the magic and excitement of Christmas giving. Registration will be held at Huck Sansbury Park inside the gymnasium from 9am – 11am.

In order to keep the magic alive, we ask that if at all possible children not attend the registration on November 5th. Children age birth to age 5 or not yet kindergarten eligible are eligible. A legal parent or guardian must be present to register an eligible child, please bring with you photo identification. Other family members may not register as a photo identification is required. Parent or legal guardian must be a Person County resident and provide proof of residency such as public utility statement, Medicaid eligibility notification with current address matching identification, or a mortgage or rental agreement. Please bring verification of child’s age such as a birth certificate matching the name on your photo identification and/or legal guardianship documentation.

Families meeting Medicaid eligibility requirements are eligible for the program. Medicaid case workers will be on site at the registration to confirm eligibility, it is not necessary to obtain proof of Medicaid eligibility prior to attending the registration. Families who are not Medicaid eligible, but are facing significant hardship may provide a letter of referral from a professional such as a case worker, health care provider, child care provider, landlord, or minister. The letter must provide supporting documentation of the hardship or crisis.

In order to ensure we can reach more families who may need assistance, families who are receiving other holiday assistance programs are not eligible. After registrations are complete from all holiday programs in the community, assistance programs will cross reference and someone from our office will contact you if your family is no longer eligible for the Angel Tree program.
